NAD+
Cellular energy
Mechanism
A cofactor of redox reactions and a substrate of signaling enzymes. It is not, by itself, a product of this site.
Research summary
NAD+ biochemistry is well described. Its decline with age, and the effect of restoring it, are studied mostly in the laboratory and in animals.
Human evidence
In people, the open question is whether raising NAD+ changes health outcomes that matter. There is no proof today that it lengthens human life.
Safety
This is not a treatment. Anyone who is pregnant, nursing, underage, or taking medication should consult a professional before using a supplement.
