Cell, 2025. Lei, Liu and colleagues · 2025-06-13
Lei and colleagues, Cell, 2025, describe human mesenchymal progenitor cells edited at FOXO3 and given intravenously to aged macaques for 44 weeks. It is a non-human primate study, not a human trial and not an approved treatment. Nature Aging later published a highlight of that work. It does not show that human aging is slowed.

China · Scientific perspective
Aging Biomarker Consortium · 2025
Li and colleagues, Nature Aging, 2025, volume 5, pages 1669 to 1685. It is a perspective from the Aging Biomarker Consortium: it describes how they intend to build cohorts and biological-age clocks for a Chinese population. It is not a finished clock and not a clinical tool.

Liu, Wei and colleagues, Nature Communications, 13 January 2026. In marrow cells and in mice, moderate mechanical stimulation was linked to more chromatin accessibility at FOXO1 and to changes in aged bone. Too much force was linked to DNA damage. Human cells from young and older donors were compared. This is not a treatment trial in people.
China · Scientific review
Aging Biomarker Consortium · 2025-09-11
A review in Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, 11 September 2025, from the Aging Biomarker Consortium, with Guang-Hui Liu as corresponding author. It surveys cellular, tissue and organism markers. It does not report a trial or a treatment.
Japan · Human clinical trial
Kyoto University / CiRA and Kyoto University Hospital · 2025-04-16
Sawamoto and colleagues, Nature, 16 April 2025. At Kyoto University Hospital, seven patients aged 50 to 69 received dopaminergic progenitors made from allogeneic iPS cells. The trial is open-label and single-centre (jRCT2090220384). The paper discusses safety and clinical signals in that small group. It is not an approved treatment and not a longevity study.

United States · Institutional news release
National Institutes of Health
An NIH news release on the SenNet consortium, senotypes and an atlas. It calls senolytics experimental. It is an institutional release, not the paper, and not a result showing that clearing senescent cells extends human life.

Kroemer and colleagues, Cell · 2025
Kroemer and colleagues, Cell, 2025. A review of the shift from the study of aging toward what they call precision geromedicine. It does not show that human aging has been stopped or reversed.
